WHAT YOU DO

  • Ability to problem solve PLC code and complex fieldbus IO and SCADA systems
  • Communicating and working with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer)
  • Understanding of Process, Production & Warehouse and Building Control Systems
  • Maintenance and archiving of PLC programs
  • Hardware maintenance of the plant systems (e.g. Siemens MES)
  • Programming or optimization of wastewater treatment plant control
  • Experience either building, commissioning or problem solving on Electrical Controls and Instrumentation Panels
  • Ability to understand flow processes within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Understanding of Industrial communication protocols like ProfiBus, ProfiNet, Ethernet, IP is desirable
  • Ability to analyse metrics, data, identify systems and machine optimization opportunities in order to maintain and improve OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness)
  • Work within a shift team and take the lead in resolution of controls related issues and improvements
  • Working knowledge of UK Safety Regulations and Safe Working Practices

WHO YOU ARE

  • HND/C in Electrical or Controls biased qualification
  • Programing and diagnostic, fault finding experience on Siemens Simatic S7 PLCs
  • Continuous Improvement experience and problem-solving skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills on all levels
  • Ability to be able to operate with minimal supervision
  • Willingness to to work in a fast paced, production environment (FMCG), whilst being able to work under pressure
  • Comfortable to work alone, or as a fundamental part of the site Maintenance Team
  • Flexible approach to working hours to ensure that customer demands are upheld
  • At least 2 years' experience within a similar role
  • Experience in the reading and updating of Electrical and Controls Schematics and Documentation as well as Barcode recognition technology is desirable
  • Preferred but not essential: CAD and or CAM Circuit Design
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience of SAP and Lean Manufacturing Techniques is desirable, however, training will be provided
